From the time of a film's first rough cut to the final print, many scenes and sometimes even whole sections do not make the cut. This section - the mountain section - was one of those sections.

Though ultimately I felt that the section bogged down the film, and therefore didn't make the final cut, I always look back upon these scenes with some fondness. This was a special time before the festival when we were up in the little border town of Timure awaiting the goats arrival from Tibet. Appropriately, the time up at the border were long days where nothing much seemed to happen as the Chinese kept stalling selling the goats to the Nepalese merchants. This was certainly reflected even in the feel of the scenes, and really, was one of the big reasons that the mountain section never played like this.
